Well I got some much needed R&R and read book after book by the pool in the 100+ heats every day whilst listening to my ipod sunning myself. It's a real hard life sometimes...
I'd love to fill the blog with holiday related incidents but to be honest nothing happened
.
So I arrived back yesterday with a new found craving for poker. Jumped into the first $20 180 man sng and BAM! 3rd place. Amazing what a break can do for you
So here I go again trying to rebuild a bankroll in time to hit vegas in November, hopefully this latest cash isn't an isolated one.

Literally I am the colour of this site when it comes to the WSOP just now I so wish I could be there but the play I was producing in October/November 2005 is really nowhere to be found. I can't quite put my finger on it but I felt I was destined for great things after the WPT but alas I've played poorly. I will miss the Stars 150 seat extravangazna and as such im giving up any hope of making the WSOP this year.
In my defence I didn't really get that much of a chance to play nearly as many WSOP qualifiers and sub qualifiers as I would have liked to due to alot of issues on the home front:
- My girlfriend taking seriously ill being diagnosed with diabetes and coeliac disease in the same month
- a big family fallout
- A pending redundancy at my work place where I was spared but 50% of my team wasn't then us "survivors" being absoultely raped having to do the same workload as we had before (even though we were promised this would not be the case).
I'm not wanting sympathy for this all as it is in the past but to be honest Poker is such a grueling psychological game especially at the higher limits unless your 100% focused there you are going to lose money.
Even though on paper (or the pokerdb/tournament reporter) my MTT wins for the first half of 2006 look great A lot of the cash has been spunked on real life purchases and playing way way way above my bankroll.
I made alot of going forward posts on the blog im going to make a bankroll blah blah blah but I was never in a frame of mind to do so. All this bearing in mind Im hoping I am now turning a corner.
Tomorrow I'm away for two weeks to Luxor Egypt (wish it was Luxor Las Vegas but dont tell the Mrs) for some well earned R&R. During this time I am going to study, read and reread the great MTT books out there. Along with the Mrs I will be spending my holiday with the great poker authors Matthew Hilger, Dan Harrington, David Sklanksy and more. I vow to come back a winning player. This is not some half hearted gesture it will happen.
There is no denying the talent I have however without a bankroll to backup my skills I am a nobody and I just have to accept that.
However this time next year I promise you will see i-reraise.co.uk filled with updates of how my WSOP is going (if i remember to renew the domain name).
In two weeks time you will see the new me and Im hoping that good things will be happening.. starting with an early seat for the Stars PCA ![]()
