It's not all great
I've been playing really poorly lately and the bankroll is taking a huge hit
. I've got a lot of stuff going on IRL at the moment and I think it is transferring over to the felt.. the long and short of it is that 4 members of my 9 strong team at work are being made redundant and we are going through a consultancy period to see who goes. It's not happy days.
Anyway to try and focus on my game and try and find some consistancy I'm going to do a few things.
1) Scrap trying to qualify for the WSOP and I am not playing nearly good enough when I am playing in the satellites.
2) Play more live. I tend to play really well live mainly because there ain't the same conveinence of just firing up another table if I bust. My ROI% is huge in live events (discounting the -$8k for the WPT obviously cuz that was only like $160 in sats
).
3) Build up a proper bankroll multitabling prima rounders tournaments. I've said it time and time and time again but never followed through. Now I will.
and lastly 4) Start up a 10 $20 180 man sng challenge. I will play 10 180 man sngs and monitor the results. I dunno why its a challenge but I am hoping to earn over $1k from these 10..
I've got a couple of live tournies im really looking forward to.. Firstly Mad Marty's Weekend a £150 freezeout. Also the £100 D/C Freezeout at the blackpool bonanza festival.
I'll keep you all updated.

Groundhog day/week/month/year delete where applicable
Seems like my poker career is just repeating itself and repeating itself. I do ok in satellites but never win those $650WD. I run well in the WSOP sats but never get there and every so often i cash for $1k+ . It's kinda freaky like I know whats gonna happen.
Anyway I'm not complaining really I've had 3 $1k+ cashes this year and 1x $900 ish my latest $1.6k cash was won by finishing the $50 NL last night taking down 3rd out of 290 runners.
PokerStars Tournament #22780345, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $50.00/$5.00
290 players
Total Prize Pool: $14500.00
Tournament started - 2006/04/11 - 15:00:00 (ET)
Dear mattymillne,
You finished the tournament in 3rd place.
A $1,682.00 award has been credited to your Real Money account.
You earned 265.57 tournament leader points in this tournament. It actually felt like luck balanced out in that tournie. I hit a 4 outer and a 3 outer on the river when i needed it most but also lost to a couple of 3 outers... such is poker.
In other news Blackpool Bonanza Poker festival is only 3 weeks away where ITH is gonna have a small showing. I'm hoping to play the £1000 ME if I can't manage it then the £100 D/C FO. Should be a good weekend either way.
I'm also going to be playing a £150 Freezeout at
Cincinatti's I believe it's being run or sponsored by Mad Marty Wilson thats on April 29th.
On a non poker related note I bought my first car yesterday a Citroen Saxo 1.5 Diesel. Woot

Blackpool Calling
So me and a few of the lads from the InternetTexasHoldem forums are arranging a meetup in Blackpool for their Bonanza festival on the weekend of the 5th - 7th of May. The offer also extends to readers of my blog. I'm hoping to play the £1000 main event but if I can't muster the buyin somehow it'll be the £100 Double Chance Freezeout.
If anyone wants details and to meet up for a few beers drop me a line at Matthew*at*i-reraise.co.uk .
This weekend was full of sick beats and Satellite blow-ups. I won't bore anyone with the details but not been anything decent to report. Took 20/329 in Thursdays $50 NL and Celtic won the league on Wednesday night was there to enjoy it.
Thats about it for now. Peace.

A bumper update :)
Got loads to fit in firstly a WSOP update: the Party steps are going well where Im currently sitting with a couple of round1 freerolls and a round 3 freeroll still to play. Stars: i've hit 8 final tables in the $16 DS to $650 event but am yet to take one down.. I also played a double shootout to the WSOP package and lost head's up on the first table with an interesting hand.
In other tournments i took down 17th out of 250 odds in a $30 MTT and also last night i finished 220th out of 5432 runners in the weekly $215 $1million guaranteed. Great experience and thankfully my A-game came out. Unfortunately for the most part of my tournie i had JohnnyBax on my right Luckily i had position on him and snapped of a few of his raises with resteals. Amazing how many people just follow him about railing him must get boring for him.
Randomly observed in the observer box:
Claret1 [observer]: Bax is quite good, but he's no mattymillne
Lastly a HUGE WOOT!!! I passed my driving test two weeks back on my fourth attempt and have just had a car loan approved so I'm gonna be on the road soon. So exciting and a huge bit of independence
.
