08/07/2006: "Enjoying poker (well just now at least)"
Its been a fairly quiet week however I've managed to get some time online in. I've been playing the prima poker rounders tournaments again and am happy to annouce I've worked my $60 up to $1373 or something like that in Tournament credits.
Once I've cashed round 5 a couple of times (touch wood) Im going to write up a guide to playing these tournaments which I would hope can help any $20+ SNGer with a bit of time get a few large cashes.
The reason these tournaments are better than Party Poker's steps is that any rounds after round2 you qualify for you are not forced to play the next round. You can rack up the credits.
Working example:
Round 2 is a $25 + $2.50 buyin, if you finish first or second you win entry to round 3 the equivalent of a $112 + $12.50 buyin (that might not be the exact figure). The best part is you can either play round 3 OR play Round 2 another 4 times.
Even a bankroll neglecter like myself can't go wrong with this.
I suppose the downside is the credits are pretty much worthless unless you cash in a round 5 tournament (1st= $3,000, 2nd= $1,200, 3rd= $800 and 4th= $600) theres no selling the credits like you can with t$ or w$ on stars.
On another positive note I won a sattellite into the Sunday Million on stars last night, I've bought in directly the last 3-4 times I've played it as I hadn't been able to put in the time to play any satellites in the past. I didn't play though as I was close to falling asleep at 8pm BST so I just took the T$ and will probably play it next week or play two $112 tournies that they run at like 2am or something silly (Im on backshift on work next week).
So far the time being thats all my news still wish I was in Vegas as the ITH convention is next week but hey theres always next year.
PS*EDIT* Its not often I post non poker related stuff on the blog but this is far too funny for words. Truely the definition of pwned.
